Οι συρματοκύλινδροι είναι κυλινδρικού τύπου συρματοκιβώτια διαμέτρου 0,50 – 1,00m και ύψους από 1,00 – 3,00m (οι διαστάσεις καθορίζονται κατά περίπτωση από την εκάστοτε μελέτη των έργων προστασίας).Οι συνηθέστερες διαστάσεις είναι 2mX0.60m, 2mX0.90m, 3mX0.60m & 3mX0.90m. Ενισχύονται με σύρμα μεγαλύτερης διαμέτρου καθ’ ύψος. Εφαρμόζονται σε επενδύσεις πρανών, για προστασία ποδός πρανών και κοιτοστρώσεις χειμάρρων, ποταμών και άλλων έργων καθώς επίσης για την υποθεμελίωση κατασκευών από άλλου είδους συρματοκιβώτια, καθώς η ευκαμψία και το σχήμα τους επιτρέπει την ευχερέστερη προσαρμογή στο έδαφος.
